Touristic informations
SLATINA MONASTERY.
The
churchand the outbuildings of this superb monastery
were built in 1561 by Alexandru Lapusneanu. It had the
distinction of being the largest church in Moldavia until the end of
the 18th century.
The architecture.
Big church with oblong triclinic plans and closed porch. The princely
manor is a valuable example of lay architecture, betraying influences
of the Transylvanian Renaissance.
Quadrilateral precincts with corner towers of
entrance, refectory, all with the same Renaissance features. The
ornamental, marble well fits finely in the monumental ensemble.
