DRAGOMIRNA MONASTERY.  This extraordinary church was built between 1605-1609 by the Bishop of Roman Anastasie Crimca (future Metropolitan Bishop). It is dedicated to The Descent from the Cross. Dragomirna is as tall as it is long (42m) and only 9.6m wide; with its slender, discreet buttresses and virtually sheer walls it looks as though it might fall down at any moment. There is some decoration but again it is very discreet; a belt motif (a stylized girdle) encompasses the building almost half way up and the only place, which is densely ornamented, is the single tower. The museum has an excellent collection of religious objects and religious art.
