CÂMPULUNG
MOLDOVENESC. The
'Long Moldavian Field' was once an independent center with its own
special statute. Together with some 15 villages from the valleys of
Bistrita and Dorna it was established under the Austrians as a customs
post guarding the borders with Transylvania. At November 7th St., no 10
there is an excellent museum devoted to woodcraft, Muzeul Lemnului, and
it is also worth visiting loan Tugui's Ethnographic and Numismatic
Museum at G. Popovici St., no 1, which has a collection of over 4500
wooden spoons.
